Göflaner marble quarry

We start from Prad on the cycle path to Laas. At the ➊ main square in Laas we cross the ➋ bridge over the river Etsch, keep on the left and heat up on the bicycle track for 500 m, right uphill to ➌ Tarnell. The 13.5 km long ascent with a difference in altitude of 1255 m is quite uniform until the marble quarry. Above ➍ Tarnell black asphalt leaves the white gravel marble, which makes this climb an unforgettable experience. So suddenly we see the ancient miners’ huts and the entrance of the ➎ extraction gallery in the background. Although you cannot get close to it, you have a good overview that reveals how white gold is extracted. First we go down the same path to the junction with ➏ the trail nº 3 for ➐ Göflaner Alm. After a stop at the Alm, the tour will take you on a gravel road to ➑ Kohlplätze. On the right and above the small hut passes the trail no. 2 to ➒ Weißkaseralm. After the silvan glade Weißkaseralm, the descent begins on the legendary Holy Hansen Trail that brings us back to ⓫ Göflan after 5.7 km of pure fun. Return on the bike path.
